Please Help Us Save Violet!!
Urgent!! Funds Desperately Needed in Irving TX!! When we rescued Violet an adorable ACD/ BC X from a high kill shelter in TX over a week ago ( where she was on the PTS list that day for the crime of being shy) she was a happy and seemingly healthy Pup . She was placed in boarding & was awaiting transport until yesterday when I received a call from the boarding facility stating that Violet had started to exhibit some upper respiratory symptoms( i.e possible KC) & a trip to the vet was in order. After a lengthy exam which included a series of x-rays and blood tests it was determined that Violet was seriously ill , and suffering from severe pneumonia (ie Not a case of Kennel Cough).. Furthermore she needed to be hospitalized & placed in isolation immediately ...Violet is now in intensive care battling for her life ..She has an excessive amount of fluid surrounding her heart and lungs , elevated temps & liver enzymes plus considerable eye and nasal discharge...Violet's prognosis is alas very guarded ...While the exact cause of her pneumonia is unknown at this time ( amongst those in the differential are Canine Flu and Distemper ) we DO know that she is extremely ill and medical treatment is Paramount if she has any chance at all of surviving this ordeal..Donations would be immensely appreciated so that Violet may receive the medical care she so desperately needs ..The vet is adamant that she remains hospitalized in ISO and treated for at least 14 days..For those of you that are involved in rescue you know that unfortunately these unforseen and potentially devastating situations can occur. We are reaching out to the rescue community and asking / begging for donations to help defray Violets mounting medical expenses which the Vet has estimated will be in the $ 2,000 range .We are praying that little Violet will turn around so she can come to FL and look at us with the same shiny eyes so evidenced in her apres shelter pic ..
